Software Engineer - Job Description

VNT Software is expanding! We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced software engineer to join our R&D team in building our next-generation product.

Applicants should have expertise in both server side and client side Java programming. Experience in C/C++, Ruby and/or JavaScript –an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

·         Participate in developing our next-generation product components

·         Write well-tested and maintainable code

·         Participate in customer support and customer implementations

Technical skills

·         At least 3 years of experience in Java programming

·         Understanding and proven experience of Web services, XML, multi-threaded programming

·         Experience with communication protocols over TCP/IP, HTTP

·         Familiar with Design Patterns and Object oriented programming

·         Knowledge of SQL – an advantage

·         C/C++, Ruby, JavaScript – an advantage

·         Basic Unix skills - an advantage

·         Experience with Scrum or other agile software methodologies – an advantage

Personal skills

·         Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Independent, self-motivated

·         Flexible, able to work in a dynamic environment
